What I read in February 2013: Digest Version, part 2 of 2

b Seiho Boys' High School! 7: More fun with the boys trapped at the elite, remote, all-boys' school.  Hilarious communication issues abound between Rui and his girlfriend when Rui gets sick of all the crap he has to put up with as the good, strong leader guy, and he ends up taking it out on everyone, which pretty much floors them.  Then there's this young teacher who graduated from their school and has never had any successful relationships with women.  He is jaded and cynical and preaches a gospel of hopelessness.  Then he tries to steal Kamiki's girlfriend, which brings out the inner thug in Kamiki, which is also hilarious.  Good times all around.

b Wallflower 11: I just can never quite adjust to how ugly all these characters are while still marveling at how much they really do look like the androgynous, visual kei people they're modeled after.  The sit-com hijinks continue as Sunako refuses to be a creature of the light, and the boys try various schemes to make her into a more normal human being in order to score free rent.  (Spoiler: They're still paying for their rent at the end of this one.)

b Whistle! 15, 17: Sho is getting better now that he's practicing with the select team, but he and the other alternate struggle with wondering when they should keep struggling, and when they should give up.  The head coach ends up in the hospital , so they end up with the lady assistant coach in the lead.  Some of the young, arrogant morons have a problem with this until she shows she's way better than they are.  (And this may be why the Japanese women's team won the World Cup instead of the men's team despite all the stupidity and unfairness in women's athletics in Japan.  Just saying.)  The starting goalie's old knee injury flares up, and his replacement wonders if he's really up to the challenge.  The team prepares to take on the Seoul Select team in their first international match, and things are guaranteed to be awkward due to some lingering politically-based bitterness between the two countries.  I love this shonen series about guts and the possibility of glory and the necessity of doing your best and being content with that while driving yourself to reach new bests through hard work.

b YuYu Hakusho 18: Hiei relives some of his past, kills a lot of people, and teams up with someone who might be good for him.  Yusuke learns about the human woman who made his ancestor give up eating humans until it killed him.  With murky motives, Kurama does what he can to help the important guy he tried to kill once upon a time.  Yusuke decides that they should all just have a tournament fight instead of a war to decide who'll be the next leader.  And it works.
